I have been woodburning for over 11 years now. Walking through a store one day, I saw the little woodburner kit and simply knew I could express with this medium. My first piece was "Faerie Magic", shown here as a giclee on canvas.
My understanding of how to manipulate the woodburner for fine and exquisite levels of detail began with this first piece, as an intuitive knowing. I utilize the same standard point for all of my work, sharpening it with a wet stone as I go. It is a very organic and sensory medium, a phoenix of creation & destruction in every stroke.
The passion of fire to wood is an elemental dance that I find very inspiring. Each of these distinct and unique pieces tells a story, and holds a strand of the mystical within it. It is such a complex and satisfying expression to bring forth. An artisan reflection.
