About Me.....

I have always been an artist.  It is one very clear strand of who I am.  I graduated from the MD Institute College of Art - in Baltimore MD. with a BA in graphic design in 1983.  And then became a bookkeeper for over 20 years.  I found my love of detail, and the ability to be creative and innovative translated well into this field.

Then I passed a woodburner in the store one day, over 11 years ago- and I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I could work with this medium. My first piece was "Faerie Magic" on a pine table top that was over 4 feet long.  Nothing like jumping right in.  That first piece took me 6 months to complete.  Now, such a piece would take 4 weeks.

Mosaics of stained glass, intricate bead work and semi-precious stones are a recent endeavor, which allows the brilliant and sometimes muted use of color that is a very fulfilling addition to my palette.

My work is now evolving  into fusion pieces that combine the two mediums into highly unique and beautiful pieces.

An artist, a healer, a writer, and most of all - a heart open to whatever comes next....

All of my pieces are inspired by the changes that are occurring with the Earth, and in humanity as a whole.

Woodburning is a passionate, delicate, slightly dangerous dance with the elements of creation.  Fire to wood, the chaos of  destruction birthing into new beauty.  The  filigree like detail I am able to achieve with this medium is a gift.  I have no other explanation, as I was able to render in this way from the moment I picked up the woodburner.  A source of great joy, it is a medium which harkens to ancient lineage and the mystical beneath the surface of living.

Mosaics of stained glass and semi-precious stones have provided an amazing way to bring forth creative vision.  The colors, the shimmer of beads, glass & stone, the many "treasures", the sheer weight of the pieces offer a depth of presence that is beautiful, and somehow comforting.  That I am able to translate my vision into this medium amazes me.  Once in the flow of a piece, it almost seems as if the elements conspire in my favor, helping to form themselves into the revelation at hand.  Co-creation at its finest.

My work tells the story of us.   Once it was a foretelling, a Seeing.  Now it is where we stand.  We are Here.  At the very door of the change that is sweeping over all that is.  How we choose to embrace this change will be the testament and legacy of who we are, individually and as a collective whole.  There is no going back now.

Creativity in all venues is what is needed.  And by a happy coincidence - it is human nature to be creative.  And so, we do this, ready or not.  Hopefully with as much grace as is humanly possible.  :)

Peace.  This is why we came.....for this, the Greatest Show on Earth.

I look forward to whatever comes next, with great anticipation.  My hope is to always be open to the flow of creativity, as the Muse of Alchemy dances with what is, in every moment.

Change - the  one constant to living.
